Resources
For refugee teachers
- An online assessment tool is available to assist refugees interested in a career in the education sector in the UK. The tool assesses their qualifications and offers advice on the routes into employment.
- Refugee into Teaching (RiT) hosts a database of refugee teachers in England and Wales. Those signed up to the database will receive the RiT newsletter and updates on information and provision relevant to refugees interested in a career in the education sector. The database also provides statistics on the numbers of refugee teachers in the UK.
- An exhibition stand has been produced on behalf of the Refugee Teachers Task Force to provide more information about the national strategy and to highlight the contribution refugees can make to the education workforce. The stand is available for use at conferences or seminars and transport costs will be met by Employability Forum. To see a copy of the exhibition stand as a pdf, please click here. If you would like to book the stand, please contact info@employabilityforum.co.uk
For employers
An advice sheet is available for employers interested in taking on refugees for work placements and employment. It clarifies the role of the school, the refugee and the placing agent, and offers contact details of headteachers who are happy to share their experience of working with refugee teachers.
